Through music and drama, the Savior of the World production recounts historical events leading up to the birth of the Messiah and the events following His glorious resurrection.
The first act centers around Elizabeth and Zacharias, Mary and Joseph, and the shepherds. The second act focuses on the Savior's resurrection, as seen through the eyes of various apostles and disciples.
The set design is creative and artistic – representing space in Heaven and on Earth. Events that occur on earth as described in the Bible take place on designated points of the stage with heavenly messengers witnessing and watching over from Heaven.
The original production was written under the direction of the Quorum of the Twelve for performance in The Conference Center Theater in Salt Lake City, Utah. The live production takes under 2 hours to perform.
